Fat Burning Strategies

Carb Cycling What is Carb Cycling? A carb cycling program is an intentional variation of carbohydrate intake each week. Just as the name suggests, you'll cycle through higher and lower carbohydrate intake. Most carb cycling plans consist of alternating high carb days and low carb days. Why Carb Cycle? Long term restriction of carbohydrates and calories can lower a client’s metabolic rate and negatively impact their hormone levels. This is a big reason women find themselves at a weight loss plateau. For a short period of time, a significantly restrictive diet will bring results. However, over time it will cause the client’s metabolic rate to decrease. Once that happens, clients will see their weight loss stop and will need to restrict calories even further to lose more, thus lowering...

Confidence is Key

While I was thinking about what I wanted to share this morning, a current client of mine text me. She thanked me for giving her back something she didn't even realize that she had lost. Her confidence. I became a health and wellness coach to instill in women self confidence at this exact moment in time. I coach that we are all enough right now just as we are. This may seem contradictory being in the fitness industry, but to me, getting a toned physique is a byproduct to having renewed self confidence and living a healthy lifestyle that you can enjoy without guilt. ...

Are You Ready to Commit to Yourself?

I did it. Body shaming. Addiction to the scale. Trapped with negative self talk. Then one day I decided to invest in myself. To get uncomfortable. That's where the magic happens, right!?! I spent $199 on a "6 week online boot camp" (felt safe to commit to something I could do from the comfort of my own home) that was going to give me the strategies to finally get that transformation I was looking for. I decided to commit to myself to take the steps needed to understand that I didn't need to be on a diet. I didn't need to run 6 miles a day AND do a HIIT workout, too. I was willing to learn. I was willing to accept progress not perfection,...

Becoming a FASTer Way Coach

A year-and-a-half ago I took a leap of faith to follow my passion and become a FASTer Way certified coach!! I was excited, nervous, scared, but mostly grateful. Grateful I can share my health journey on how I got myself in the best shape (mind + body) of my life. When I got certified as a FASTer Way Coach, I had no idea what would unfold for me, I only knew that the passion I had to help mentor others towards optimal health was for me, and I’d figure out how to do whatever it was I needed to learn. I can tell you with certainty that my ability to trust that gut instinct is what has me where I am today, fulfilled and helping hundreds...

Before Joining the FASTer Way

Before joining The FASTer Way to Fat Loss, I dabbled in intermittent fasting and a variety of low carb/high fat programs and had short term success with both. I could never make it through the fasting because I didn’t have anyone who taught me how to do it the right way and more importantly I wasn’t eating enough of the right foods during my eating window. I have found this is the #1 mistake people make with fasting! When I first started eating low carb, I admittedly thought it was the best thing ever, until I started feeling uncontrollably hungry because my body craved carbs. I have learned and coach that the right carbs are not the enemy and low carb isn’t the only way to...

6-Week Online Bootcamp

When I registered myself for a 6-week online bootcamp in 2019, I was passionate about reclaiming my energy and finding health and wellness in everyday life! I did this by learning more about whole food nutrition, tracking macros, intermittent fasting and effective fitness. This program and support behind it has turned into passion of mine which has taken me to lead and encourage others on this same journey! I started small, stayed consistent, and just kept pushing. That is what this program represents! Setting goals, taking small steps, staying consistent and celebrate non scale victories along the way!  ...

One Big Change

I was an over-exerciser. I literally tracked my exercise daily and logged all the miles I ran for many years (one year I ran enough miles I could have run from WA to NEW York City) before finding the FASTer Way. I used to do 1-2 hours of cardio a day and while I still love a good cardio sweat session, it’s not the foundation of my workouts anymore. Although my opinion of how I look at exercise has changed drastically, going to the gym is something I do still love to do. For me, exercise is a stress reliever. It gives me a boost of energy. It makes me feel stronger. It makes me happier. Here is a picture of my enjoying a couple mile walk along the boardwalk in sunny San Diego. ...
